This site is dedicated to Nynaeve al’Meara and al’Lan Mandragoran. Their relationship is an interesting one because at first it appears quite out of character for both of them – Nynaeve is prickly and self-assured, Lan is emotionless stone. Their relationships shows a softer side in both of them, and not only makes them easier to identify with as characters, but makes it easier for them to identify with the emotional and relationship struggles of others. It adds measure of tension and suspense to the stories because of the opposition to it, due to Lan being Moiraine’s Warder and claiming to be wedded to his “private war with the shadow”. Lan and Nynaeve are also rather amusing, whether it be because Nynaeve is yelling at him, or doing her upmost not to. More?
This site was created and opened in June 2006. It is called “Mashiara”, which is what Lan calls Nynaeve in both The Great Hunt and A Crown of Swords, meaning “beloved of the heart, but a love lost”. While this may not be descriptive of Lan and Nynaeve's relationship in the later books, it just seemed to fit, because of that as well. Lan believes that their love is lost, and he is wrong...
The fanlisting was approved 3rd July and opened 7th July 2006. It is listed at thefanlistings.org in the Relationships: Book/movie category.
The layout features the quotes from The Eye of the World and The Great Hunt. The flower is in the image since at one point Nynaeve, in a fury, thinks “Lan had never given her flowers... Still, flowers would have been nice. Nicer than another explanation of why their love could never be, certainly.” Apologises that the images used for Lan and Nynaeve came from the films The Lord of the Rings and Pride and Prejudice (and hence the original characters are screamingly obvious…) If there was a Wheel of Time film, these are not necessarily the actors Herenya would like see play the parts of Lan and Nynaeve, she just liked the pictures.
Webmistress - Herenya
Herenya first heard of The Wheel of Time years ago when she attempted to read a classmate’s copy of The Lord of Chaos during science while her friend's attention was diverted. Not only did Herenya find the first three pages very confusing, she wasn’t allowed to read for long before the book was taken off her...
So it wasn’t until Herenya was given The Eye of the World as a birthday gift several years later that she started reading the series. Does she even need to say she's absolutely hooked - addicted? Isn't that a given? Her favourite characters are Moiraine, Nynaeve, Egwene and Perrin (but she likes most of them, excepting the Forsaken… and even they have their moments) and her favourite books are New Spring, The Shadow Rising, The Fires of Heaven and Knife of Dreams. However, she thinks that The Eye of the World is the best.
She’s not sure whether she would want to join the Brown Ajah or the Blue Ajah… According to her own quiz, she is only 64.4% obsessed with WoT.
She has learnt a lot of interesting things about WoT, reread passages she mightn't have looked back at in the books and found a lot of good websites while researching and creating this website, and believes that alone justifies the time she wasted into its existence. She would like to take time to point out that she is not in love with Lan (sorry, Rem).
She also finds it amusing to write about herself in third-person...

Thanks to Rembinallë for giving me and making me read The Eye of the World. Also, thanks to Spraak for letting me borrow his New Spring review and for coming up with some rather amusing theories.
